ok, so its only 3g, but for something to take on UK holidays, it's almost "throwaway" with 6gb included in the price.
Also handy for a house move where you have to wait a week or two to get your broadband sorted!

See those speech marks, they indicate something. Simply that it is cheap enough to be used as a disposable item, he is not suggesting to do so.

Almost throw away? Wow people like you must really relish the world we will leave to the Grandchildren. Hot deal but terrible suggestion.

Why don't you just buy the EE 4g pre loaded sims? Usually can find a sim preloaded with 6gb of 4g data (which lasts 3 months) for approx £15 a time.

Don't worry, the grandchildren will no doubt have a better comprehension of modern English language. Interpreting the use of quotation marks in written speech in particular.

What's not seem to been mentioned is that the data included is valid for 90 days. At only ~£8.33/month for 2GB it definitely would be cheaper to buy a new one as it costs £10/month for only 1GB to top it up.

Is this a one off payment or a contract?

I think it can yes. It's a huwaui unit if that's how you spell it. I have a vodaphone one that I was going to unlock to EE but never have.
