I was interested in the CX680 but 50" then saw Currys are selling an exclusive CX700 with a better spec for £50 more and am now mulling over which one to go for...

The cx680 55" is good if anyone's interested. No 3D though. Lovely picture on it after a bit of fine tuning in the picture settings. I like the fact that you can have different picture settings for each input and for apps too. There's plenty of info on these over at avforums and about calibrated picture settings to get you on your way when adjusting it.

£800 for a second hand tv? Far too expensive. Might as well wait for the price drop and get new.

it's the 2015 flagship, stocks are almost gone as its successor (dx902b) is available now. there won't be much of a price cut worth waiting for, and I can say it's a really good TV (i have the 55" version)
*worth noting, only the 55 and 65 inch models have direct backlighting, the others are edge-lit. hasn't seemed to make much of a difference though.
