it sounded like it but we had a look in Curry's today at it and it was a bit pants! Thing is, they could have just set it up wrong but the Samsung (6400 from memory) next to it owned it. We've decided to leave it a couple of years, our 42 plasma just ticks the boxes enough for what we need.

torn as a refurbished CX700 is on eBay for £499 which is more my budget.

it's the 2015 flagship, stocks are almost gone as its successor (dx902b) is available now. there won't be much of a price cut worth waiting for, and I can say it's a really good TV (i have the 55" version)
*worth noting, only the 55 and 65 inch models have direct backlighting, the others are edge-lit. hasn't seemed to make much of a difference though.

ill have to look into this! The blacks look amazing on my set though. I know oled is the way forward with deep blacks. Just not sure on these led/lcd panels as most top end sets I have seen are poop compared to the Panasonic plasmas. Mine is thx certified also and there is virtually no input lag whatsoever with gaming etc. When viewing non HD channels it does a great job. I have a Panasonic lcd with led backlight in the bedroom and must say picture is grainy but my plasma has none of those issues. Apart from the fact that it sucks alot of electric and it can get fairly hot. Sometimes I don't need the heating on lol

HOT, I bought two 50 Panasonic's from the refurb outlet. in January last year and September, do not confuse these with lesser models. These are fantastic TV's I have 3 Panasonic 4K tv's in total, the TX-L65WT600, the 50AX802B. Both of these are THX certified and have Display port and HDMI 2.0 capable of 4k 60hz at full 4.4.4 Chroma Subsampling, unlike the Samsung and Sony's that have to down sample to 4.2.2(lower the picture quality) to achieve 4K at 60hz. I also have the 50CX700 on my watercooled X99 rig. I bought the 50AX802B and the 50CX700 from them, they are like new. I am a professional film and Video editor (27 years experience) and use Blackmagic's DaVinci, Adobe, Final Cut Pro etc and these TV's are capable of the full colour RGB Professional standard Hollywood and TV editors require. £800 for a second hand TV, or £800 for a £1700 tv thats like new.

Panasonic stopped making Plasma's, thats why the bought out the L65WT600 in October 2013 the worlds first 4K TV with HDMI 2.0 and Display Port, THX certified etc etc, this was a statement of intent, as they headed into an a new era, as Panasonic were regarded as the Plasma kings, they wanted to get the picture as close to Plasma as possible, and most critics agree it was the best they have seen from a non plasma set.

Very pleased with the CX700. Prices continue to tumble though and I fail to see the urgency unless it's connected to a high-spec PC for gaming. New models must be due soon too, bought mine late May 2015.

Mate has a 24 inch panasonic probably a vestel badge, apparently it fell off the wall mount because the rear casing plastic was so thin it broke away. I hope thus isn't a vestel lol

Go for the CX700 you won't be disappointed just get the settings off a forums and you'll be fine. The 3d isn't suppose to be that great but I didn't buy for 3d.

The cx680 55" is good if anyone's interested. No 3D though. Lovely picture on it after a bit of fine tuning in the picture settings. I like the fact that you can have different picture settings for each input and for apps too. There's plenty of info on these over at avforums and about calibrated picture settings to get you on your way when adjusting it.
