My nan and mate has this phone, same cpu as the 8GB Moto G 3rd gen.
but smaller lower res screen, the screen is not too bad though.

it has got almost same specs as 20 pounds more expensive MOTO G, which has to be unlocked... and has more or less same specs (just a bit better processor and a bit better screen).
Bigger higher res screen, much better camera make it worth the extra £20 imo. Only £1.69 to unlock too. Last moto g I got from tesco was locked too, not sure about this one though.
This is good value if your happy with smaller screen though.

The phone is famous for the wrong reasons. Its the phone that Motorola, (when owned by Google,) said would receive lots of updates and then only gave it something like 265 days until they dropped support, (as Moto was sold to Lenovo.)
Do not buy this phone if you ever want updates. Just pay the £20 more for the Moto G.

They've announced that they are releasing Marshmallow for it now. I might be wrong but I don't think they ever said it wasn't getting Marshmallow; it just wasn't on an initial list they put out.

As someone with a Moto G, my phone is still on 4.4.4 KitKat - it's supposed to be 5.1 Lollipop but never happened.

it has got lolipop.. like majority of all androids in the wild :/
of course, MOTO G is a better phone. but it is more expensive + locked.

If I'm wrong then it not such a bad deal. I'd still pay the extra £20 for the G though.
