this usually hovers around £149 so thought this was a good deal. Best price it has been for a long time! Hope this helps other parents and parents to be!

Good price if you decide this is the base you need, but unless you particularly want to be restricted to just one (forward facing) group1 seat, then save yourself £20+ and get the EasyFix base instead.

I was fairly set on getting just the easy fix one, but the re-sale value of this one is around £80-ish pounds so it's worth it for that

Had two of these and was great for moving from the pebble seat to the pearl seat

After 1 year old you don't tend to take the seats out anyway so might as well get the EasyFix

I've got two of these, one in each car. They're very very good and the Pebble seat that goes with it is great too. The latest thing now is to try and keep kids rear facing until they're 4 or something, which this base won't allow for (for that you'll need the 2way fix which costs more as do the seats, ~£190 for base & £190 for the seat). Personally I'm unsure which is safer, forward or rear facing. Ideally you want a rearward facing seat for frontal impact and a forward facing seat for rearward impacts. On that basis I just drive safely when I've got my little one in the back seat and ensure that when going on the motorway that our far larger car is used rather than the runabout - anyone who's seen what a lorry does to a supermini will understand why!
The biggest thing with these bases is that they're isofix locked in, and that means they're more secure than using a seatbelt looped round and you needn't worry about trying to get the belt to fit round the seat etc. As my kiddie was a number of weeks early I got a cheap Mamas&Papas car seat to bring him home in, it was one where the seat belt looped round it - the rear sear belts in my 3 series weren't long enough to fit round it...which was nice ! I ended up using a different car to shuttle him home in.
