No its not, with "very occasional" use the Ni-Cad battery will fail as they self discharge relatively quickly (approx 1% a day) , once discharged the nickel cadmium crystallises rendering the battery knackered.
Decent price for the toolbox and basic tools. The drill will manage a couple of pieces of flat pack furniture and then die a slow and painful death in someone's garage before it's called into action 12 months later only to realise the battery is dead. Wish I'd learnt this lesson at such a good price myself though. :stuck_out_tongue:

It's noted in the answers here that a charger is included.

saw this today in Homebase. cheap as chips. well worth the money. loads of other stock reduced. guess they are getting rid of stuff before being rebranded "Bunnings" by the new owners Wesfarmers. Good post. Heat Added

Can the drill be used for masonry?

Think of it more as a 12v electric screwdriver with a chuck than a drill. It will make pilot holes in soft wood but don't expect to put up shelves on external walls with it.

A drill this cheap definitely wouldn't manage it. A hammer drill should do just fine unless you've a high quality combi drill such as a mikita, dewalt, hitachi etc.
