A great GPU at a price I have been waiting for.
The gigabyte version has the smallest width of all 380x cards at 221mm so will happily fit into SOME smaller cases.
The card takes one 8 Pin connector.
It has Asynchronous Compute Engines built in so the performance gap Will sway in favour of the 380x as DX12 games arrive.
Card has been hovering around £200 since release. This is a really great price.

I moved to nvidia this gen due to a great deal on a 980ti.
Fanboys either way are really not worth listening to, amd have been great for me over the years.
Anyone who doesn't want AMD to do better and increase market share is not thinking it through, a healthy rivalry would encourage both nvidia and amd to do better, with us benefitting from better products/value. Do you really think nvidia would work as hard if amd cards didn't exist?..

So you got a faulty card and have decided that all AMD cards are garbage as a result? You didn't perhaps think to return it and get a replacement or something?
How much do Nvidia pay you per post? Because I'd like to get in on that. Inbox me, babe.

I know this is a decent card but from guru3d review I've read it's closer to 25% slower than GTX 970. True they benchmarked at 1440p so might be a different story at 1080p. Be interested to know where you got the 10% from as this would make this deal even hotter.
Nevertheless hot price. Nice find

You are right, my bad.I edited.
20-30% yes.
Still, performacne / price still has it level pegging.
ASYNC compute will narrow that margin starting with Hitman. The first DX12 title.

Not a great deal- I bought a Sapphire 380 nitro the other week and it keeps crashing when playing GTAV. Spend more and get proper software/driver support from Nvidia or buy cheap AMD crap and buy twice.

So, because of your experience with ONE AMD card, we should all stop buying AMD? I've had a AMD 6300 with a AMD HD 6870 for about 4 years now, not once have I come across a 'driver' problem.

Wel maybe your card is faulty or your other PC components as I have never had gta5 crash and have owned it since day 1. Been playing the newest games like rise of the tomb raider with out a single problem. Nothing wrong with amd or nvidia cards drivers unless u just got unlucky with a faulty card. I have had several manufactures cards over the decades and amd hardware and software are fine.
stop talking total nonsense.. I bought both the GTX 970 and Asus 290.. The gtx kept crashing my pc as it was faulty, the 290 also kept shutting down my pc.. But the replacement MSI 290 is running like a peach playing Fallout 4 on ULTRA so to heck with the AMD is tish but NVIDIA rules as both have their pros and cons.. Your obviously an INTEL fan boy, grow up.. It's like Apple kids vs Samsung or PS4 vs Xbox.. Everyone's experience and enjoyments differ

I have a R9 280X . Aging card but it's still AMD and has never failed to play any game I have thrown at it . That's in a small form factor too

the Gta5 crashing issue is nothing to do with your card. Google it - it's a known issue that Rockstar have never bothered to resolve.. it affects many different cards even my GTX970

^^ driver support. Another Major Disaster are crap. No wonder they only have a few percent of the market- I thought I was getting a bargain but what a load of amateurish rubbish AMD are.

Hah...must be you PC. GTA played perfectly on all Nviidia cards but have a google on AMD 300 series+ GTA V + DX 11. And people wonder why AMD have a few percent of the market...
