You don't need to give over any direct debit details...just add credit to your top up card, and the bundle will automatically apply. If you do it right, then just add the £10 each month to initiate the bundle -- then if you go over your data allowance for example, Asda cannot deduct any money. That's my kind of 'cap'

Just called up Three to cancel and swap over to ID (called to get a PAC code) but they've offered me 600mins + Unlimited Texts + 1GB data all for £7 (currently on the older £6.90 plan with 200 mins + 3000 texts + 500mb data).
Think I may call them and stick with it. Just putting this out there for other people thinking of leaving Three for them.

Not that you can utilize the benefits of 4g with only 1gb data.
Stop being such a nerd about it and appreciate the glorious bargains and the OPs efforts. So what if it's been reposted!

Any other deals with a few more minutes the rest is okay paying up to 8 pounds with around 1000 minutes?

Do Life Mobile allow tethering? If so, that is a better deal (especially with EE's vastly better coverage)

Nonsense. 4G's better speed benefits you whether downloading large or small amounts of data.

Only £7.50 for the same mins/texts at iD with 2GB data.
Life mobile have add-ons at £1 / 250MB if you do use the rather limited 1GB allowance.
Shame the next step up at Life is all the way to 3GB data (currently £10/month via USwitch)

I'm on this at the moment. Only when I signed up it was 500MB but I got an extra 500MB for 12 months on a promotion. Effectively the same deal. Speeds and service great so far and customer service have been spot on.
I think they had tons of issues at launch, they're new, so it will take time for them to solve their customer service and system issues which seems to be what a lot of the early complaints were. Hope they stay afloat, finger's crossed, because it's great value for money.

I was on it - but their data usage reports/warnings aren't v.impressive, and no tethering is also not v.impressive.
I actually prefer Asda Mobile's £10 bundle (1000 minutes, unltd texts & tetherable 2GB of data).

Two issues with that:
1. It's a redemption deal so only suited to the very organised
2. Vodafone don't cap data so you'll see your bill skyrocketing if you go only a little bit over your data allowance

Please keep an eye on his data usage otherwise you'll be fleeced out of all your hard earned money. Talk mobile doesn't cap data, just like Vodafone.

Which sounds good, but is it capped? . I wouldn't give any young person access to a contract without a cap, it's just too easy to to overspend the allowances.
My lad has been on a Tesco capped contract for 3 years, cos they were the only company reliably capping back then. He only has 1gb of data, but manages fine by downloading what he wants over our WiFi.
Any more data and it would undermine our sanction of cutting off the WiFi when homework isn't done
Opening post
250 minutes
5000 texts
1000MB data
30 day rolling contract
just £5 a month
Uses the Three Network.
NOW ADDED 500 minutes, 5000 texts & 4GB data 1 month capped £10 a month
