Cheapest I could find, the controllers are still like gold dust so you could sell that for full price if not needed.

Excellent price. Upgrade to an Elite in December, I notice the speed increase a little of the SSHD but the real winner is the controller which is currently selling at over £120 making the XBox just under £220

not really? even if you sell the elite controller you still need to spend money to get the standard controller?

how does the speed increase work. does the drive cache automatically rather than xbox os?

only thing is, they're using a SATA 3 SSHD but still only using a SATA 2 connection. You'll benefit from slightly faster system start up times, but when it comes to games, you're better off using a USB 3 external hard drive. Especially if you find one that runs at 7200 RPM.

I don't know what SSHD drives they are putting in the system, however in no way would you be better off using a USB 3.0 hard drive just because they are using SATA 2.
You won't see above 150mb/s with the fastest 7200 SATA 3 drive... so whatever you connect it to, USB 3.0, SATA 3, SATA 2, the drive is the bottleneck.

Genuine question - since attaching a USB3 external hard drive (for the purpose of storing games obtained via Games with Gold/old 360 arcade titles), my XBOX One seems to take much longer to boot up. Is that normal?
Also for what it's worth, when I bought my XBOX One I was able to sub out the final part of the mains cable (from the brick to the wall) with my XBOX 360 slim one (as everything was already cabled in behind the TV). May save messing about with adaptors if you've got a 360 as well.

This is an EU import, so will need a plug adapter. Quidco currently 6% for Rakuten. Also at Coolshop (ships from Denmark) at £339.95 with 5% Quidco. Or from Amazon.fr for 460Euros (+delivery) if the Euro/Pound exchange rate becomes more favourable (currently 1E=0.76£).

an internal sshd would improve booting up and maybe loading of a game that is regularly loaded/cached.
