Feels cheap compared to a Macbook Air? BS. I own a Macbook Pro and this is comparable in build quality and materials (magnesium, in case you're wondering). Plus the SP3 screen canes the TF display on an Air - I should know, I owned one and sold it because I got sick of the lousy viewing angles.
App Store a joke? Not enough apps? Every Windows desktop app ever created not enough for you?
If you are wondering what the appeal of this is, it isn't for you. This is a product line designed for productivity. The killer feature is the pen. Do you need/want to take handwritten notes? Do you want to digitally mark up PDFs? Do you want to sketch or manipulate photos in the full suite of Adobe apps?
If you do, the Surface line is incredible. It's a good (not great) tablet. It's a good (not great) laptop. But it's an INCREDIBLE hybrid device. The pen is the key; if you don't need it, buy an iPad or a laptop. It's that simple.
Without the pen, this is just a very premium Windows tablet. But with the pen, there's nothing else like it - including the iPad Pro, which is hobbled by its OS.

Life's too short. Go on treat yourself and flog the Pro 1 for whatever you can get. One thing's for sure and that is when you are lying on your deathbed and asked whether you have any regrets in life, you will not say "I wish i hadn't bought that bloody surface Pro 3 twenty five years ago!"

That the Surface 3, not the pro. The Surface 3 is still an awesome device, nothing wrong with the latest gen Atom's. Much better tablet than an ipad

I owned one of I5 suface pro 3 for 3 weeks and happily returned it to amazon dew to the horrible screen aspect ratio ,i ended up buying a much more powerful surface pro 2 I5 8GB RAM 256gb including the keyboard for less money and it has served me faithfully ever since.

i upgraded my surface pro 2 to windows 10 pro as soon as the update was available months ago.We are not talking about lowly Apple products here that are stuck with limits to there OS.Evan my intel atom 2GB 8" windows tablet upgraded to windows 10 too although that's only a 32bit OS compared to my surface pro 2.
Those Itel atom based surface powered tablets are bloody overpriced for what they are.
