First up, credit to AlexM14 who posted the Z5 deal from Fonehouse. While checking out that site I noticed that the Z5C is also at a very nice price for SIM free. The next best price I can find for SIM free is £359.99 at GifGaf. There is a fiver Quidco too. Looks like only black is available though.

I think it depends on the size you want your phone to be. these new phones are to big, I have Z3C and love the size as you can use one handed. voted hot!

It's nowhere near that simple, you have to weigh up the considerable differences between mobile operating systems. The iPhone 6 uses IOS which is simple and just works and has a huge amount of apps. Android is cumbersome, varies significantly between manufacturers, can sometimes be an abysmal random experience, but when it does work it affords you an open system with a level of customisation that IOS just can't do. There's also a huge amount of apps on Android. Android allows you to do stuff such as Airdroid, Autotask in conjunction with Tasker. Lots of automated tasks, hacking, customisation. However when Android stinks it really stinks. It's the least polished mobile OS and sometimes has a mind of its own.
So do you want a phone that works and is possible depending on your perception - boring
Or do you want a phone that works but sometimes goes a bit schizophrenic, but an OS you can customise until the cows come home.
Personally I like and use all current main mobile OS's.

i've had my Z3C for 1 year and loved it. Great battery, camera, performance..
Battery life and size are great but don't be fooled by the Sony camera hype, it's not all that. I had to return one as a 2yr old Samsung S4 took better pics and I couldn't live with the camera on Z5 compact. Don't take my word for it check online reviews. Nexus 6P or Samsung S6 might be a better option for some.

Having owned a 6P, the camera isn't all that. It's much slower at focusing and at taking pictures. Low light isn't all that great either.
S6 camera is great, nothing to really complain about on it

Had about 6 Sony phones over the years, last one being a Z3C which I've just got rid of because the build quality, screen kept detaching from the phone. I got an Honor 7 instead which has been brilliant so far.

I'm with you mate. Have always bought my last 3 phones sim free and all have lasted 3 years, being htcs. My Z1C wasnt waterproof after 6 months and limped to its very complete death at 18months old. Fell to bits and components started to fail.
Went and bought a moto g instead this time. 350+ quid for 18 months of careful use is a joke...

It uses the Sony Exmor IMX300 sensor which is large and very good in low light, so much so apparently Samsung want to ditch theirs and use it in their Galaxy 7.
