the battery life on these are great, i can really go a few days if i have to
ive read mixed reports about the camera but again i find it amazing
screen is only 720 but for its size i doubt youd notice the difference if it was 1080 or whatever as its bright & good crisp colours, not sure what else youd want on a screen this size :smirk:
also going by the wifes z2 which has had plenty of updates, i expect this to be well supported for a while too, not abandoned like HTC do after 6 months

How about unlocking this?

It says on the website you can unlock it at any time for free on pay monthly but you are still obliged to see out the contract even if you don't use your o2 sim.

Are the eBay unlocks reliable? Great prices but I'm in no rush to upgrade from my Z1 Compact though. But I know someone who is...

i just went from Z1C (18 months old) to Z3. The extra 1Gb of RAM seems to make a real difference to using it. The Z5C still only has 2Gb so possibly not worth the upgrade though.

No way to unlock other than through eBay, add another £10 on top. No fast software updates as they'll have to go through O2 first, and no way to unlock the bootloader (should you ever want to).

will this take a tesco mob sim? Tempted, though it's above my £300 budget.

Tesco uses o2 network so yeah it should do

Yes, I was in the same position last year when I bought my z3 compact. Cheapest deal was o2 and I'm with tesco, and as they use the same network it will be fine.

good phone.i got my z3 off o2 last year when it was on offer for 240 with free chromecast.great little phones.easy equal of iphones.brilliant battery.i imagine this one is even better with having less flaps they are annoying.battery is slightly larger than z3 yet from what i have read online battery life isnt quite as good as the z3 i think the snapdragon 810 may be to blame as the screen is the same.so much for 64 bit octacore little big been more efficient.

I bought a Z3 Compact from O2 last year. Unlocked it via eBay and then flashed the standard firmware onto it, instead of the custom O2 firmware.
Opening post
Big features in a compact design, etc etc.
Full size Z5 for £407.99 also
