It's awesome when I go to a friends or my brothers house and can just plug in my HDD and play any digital game I own.
Who wouldn't want that as an option?.....

1. This new model works fine in a PS4 (9.5mm and correct connector) - I have one in mine.
2. The caddy in this new model is harder to open, I'd recommend a stanley knife run carefully around the join
3. It is possible to reuse the old 500GB HDD in this caddy if you're very careful.
4. It will invalidate the warranty on this HDD, but won't affect the PS4 warranty
5. It's been as low as £53 (possibly £49 on one occassion) but £60 is still decent

why would you want an external drive when you can have internal? who wants an extra box laying around.

I thought the ps4 only allowed hard drives to be used internally

Lot of these drives have special connections to the case so that would be no good. Tried this before with a seagate and the connection was not a standard connection
Edit
Just read on the Argos site it will work but once you take it out of the case their goes the warranty

This one is fine for a PS4 upgrade, I believe Eurogamer actually use this model in their upgrade guide.
