Can people please stop posting SSD deals, I've done my work Mac mini, my MacBook, my home Windows PC and now am tempted with this for my sons laptop - he won't notice the difference but I want to do it because I know I can, you are costing me a fortune!!

Fantastic deal, although might be worth spending the extra £30 and getting the Samsung 500GB EVO if you plan to use this on a Mac.

I read somewhere that the EVO 500GB isnt the best SSD for longevity, and the Sandisks will last you longer. 100TB lifetime.

great deal. Heat to OP.
Would this be a good drive to replace my second HDD in my laptop, which is currenlty 320gb, i.e. to store all my application data (I have a 120gb one of these as the boot drive)? I only store pic, vids and microsoft office documents etc. I don't play games on my laptop.

I'd be more tempted to swap out the 120gb and clone to this. keep 320gb as storage. Then put 120gb into Inateck 2.5 enclosure with UASP: Inateck
Using this I commonly achieve speeds in excess of 500MB/s on my Macbook air using USB3.0 with samsung Evo's. I boot my iMac from it rather than internal traditional drive.
Hope this helps.

genuine question. what advantage would the Samsung have on a Mac? looking to boot Mac mini from an external ssd drive.

No major benefit other than slightly faster potential top end speeds for read/write. Sandisk has a higher MTBF @ 1.75 million hours opposed 1.5 million hours. higher capacity. Not worth extra £30 IMO though.
