I have no first hand experience with this TV but saw this in the AVForums conclusion...
"The UHD 4K performance was excellent, the black levels good for an LCD TV and the video processing was impressive. As a result even non-4K content looked great and the input lag was extremely low, making it ideal for responsive gaming."

I'm in the same boat too! a 500 watt TV plus Av amp is probably costing me something like £200 extra a year compared to a new LED one. It's a shame, I love the plasma picture quality and response time, but can't continue to waste so much electricity. I'm looking to buy in the next few months once the extra heating isn't needed in the lounge
edit: Yes, I suspect the TV is on for as much as 14 hours a day - yikes!

I replaced a 50" VT Series Panasonic Plasma (that had died) with one of these....
I wasn't expecting to be impressed but it's exceeded my expectations...SD, HD and 4K look great..
Upscaling is very impressive and even manages to add depth to 1080p sources giving them an almost 3D like quality.
really really pleased with it...and I paid £900 6mths ago!

Does anyone know if John Lewis will price match?

I don't think they will as Appliance Electronics appears to just be an online retailer, worth a try though, they can only say no...

It's becoming increasingly difficult to get price matches from JL recently. I have had 4 refused, sometimes because the competitor didn't deliver to second floor premises or they charged for returns first and then refunded you. Price is not what it's about any more.

Is this the best tv for the price I can buy atm? Been looking for a few weeks now and there's been barely any deals... Was going to get the Sony with NowTV package deal from Amazon but then the price shot up :-/
I have a Samsung UE46F6400 atm and the clouding is terrible so reluctant to go Samsung again!

I have been interested in the Samsung UE55JU6800 refurb on eBay at same price. Any opinions of the TV??

samsungs own IPS panel, poor motion and higher input lag.
These are two of the few sources i found to convince me that the 6400 was the tv for me.

Not perfect by any means as an all rounder.

I would have gone for the 7500 series but at nearly double the price (still need another gtx 980) that option was out of the question.
Hot deal, mine arrived today from Very for £686 and that was with their 20% discount credit offer too.
