Let's get them out of the way....
Nice Sofa...would prefer a better brand like Sony, Bush or Alba...blah blah blah
Good price but I think I'd rather pay £45 more and buy from RS inc 6yrs supercover.

I haven't seen a Bush one before, they must be hard to find these days..??
This one comes with 2 year warranty, obviously go which RS if you want it extended..

I agree with the second comment - it's worth it paying £45 more to boost the warranty from 2y to 6y. Some of these sofas are known to malfunction with time.

I would be buying this, if I didn't already have the Nr636.

Shame Onkyo aren't bundling the free Atmos speakers anymore. I Got a pair free with my Onkyo 444 and they are great addition if your are your looking at an Atmos AVR.
Prices are dropping though as I paid this for my SR444 a few months ago.

Made a big improvement on my Sky HD picture to projector
Also got a new 4K tv being delivered tomorrow
Cannot wait to try out me new nvdia shield box out in 4K
The 609 was a great amp but this is so much better in every way
My sofa shakes now when watching movies
The 2 outputs is great for me
So easy to swap inputs with remote
Beats swapping HDMI cables when wanting to use the projector

Shame about Onkyo quality these days, some of last couple of years AV amps had HDMI board faults, got it repaired by Onkyo under g/tee and sold it, got a Sony now and much happier, so would never buy another Onkyo.

A lot of the older Onkyo's did have hdmi board issues, seems to be a non issue now.. Need to make sure the box is ventilated properly, A hdmi issue can be down to cheap cables, I've had two cables fail on me. Sometimes it's better to spend a couple of quid extra.

I think the HDMI board capacitor faults were resolved a good few years back now....
I do suffer with upgradeitis and the last Onkyo AVR I had that suffered this problem was a 606 about 6-7 years ago....

Yeah, I have a TX-SR607 about five years old that has come down with one of the HDMI board faults a couple of months ago, where it takes a good 5-10 minutes to display picture on initial power up. I'm reluctant to replace it as it does work perfectly once it starts displaying but is a nuisance to have to remember to power it up early.
Tried contacting (genserve) Onkyo repair center and they said they had never heard of any HDMI board problems with this model (despite several reports on the web) and wanted to charge me £90+ for a repair despite the receiver being 5 years old and only having a second hand value of about £60 tops.....
Pretty disappointing service and would make me think twice about another Onkyo unless it was dirt cheap.

Have a weird issue with my 2 year old Onkyo TXNR 414 , only plays sound in passthrough mode and the surround output no longer works, nice kit features, but after seeing thousands of complaints like mine online I doubt I'd trust an Onkyo again.

Nr414 is from 2012, they and the other models that year are know to often have issues. If your issue is a known defect, I believe Onkyo should still fix out of warranty?? Check this out
