I just got back from Sainsbury's, where I bought a Microsoft Linx 10" Windows 10 tablet 16 GB for £79.50.
I'm not sure what I want it for, but the price was good!

took mine back as there was not enough system memory for an update that was available and it wouldn't download to the SD card nor would any apps...think this was a Windows 10 issue
it then froze and crashed... cold from me

Can I afford it? Do I want it? Do I need it?
(No to any questions then do not buy!!)

Unfortunately, shaky1910 speaks the truth. It does not help that Microsoft disabled external storage for anything other than multimedia storage.
However, I am currently arranging with Linx to have them send out a usb flash drive with the update on to see if that enables my device to update.

IMO, this does not have enough storage to reliably run and update Windows.without a degree in Computer Science!
Better to look for a minimum of 32GB which is just about enough.

I have one, cracking device for the money. Just add a mini usb and all your storage concerns are gone

Wait, Microsoft produces these Linx tablets?

I guess he means Microsoft as in Microsoft Windows, i.e. it's a Windows tablet rather than Android or any other OS.
Had the same problem with my Linx 7" - an otherwise great tablet but updating to Windows 10 made it laggy beyond belief. However I then made a Windows 10 installation USB stick and did a fresh install and it was fine after that.
I was going to say I thought the 10" tablet was 32gb but I gather this is a new model, a 'Lite' version? I was considering upgrading from my 7" one so will keep an eye out for one of these in Sainsburys.

No it's not a Microsoft product, it's a Linx product which is basically an OEM tablet which has had a branding created for it. I does however bare an uncanny visual resemblance to the first generation Surface Pro. It's a shame MS went with a squared screen on later models because 16:9 makes way more sense. I would love to buy one of these if I didn't already have an SP1.
