Yeah my dad has all very efficient and quick to pay out once you put a claim in.
Also useful to point out that it covers the person not a specific car. Although I think you have to be driving it rather than a passenger.

Yes, a couple of times over the years. You phone them and they organise a roadside repair or rescue/recovery. You pay the bill yourself, which potentially could be £100s for a big recovery including hotel. Claim back the bill and get the money in about a week. If you paid on credit card you won't even be missing any money. No hassle at all in my experience.

Yes, several times over the years....
Since with Autoaid I have had my car transported home, and the company said they have contracts to provide exactly the same service for all the main breakdown companies...... who charge you higher fees than Autoaid.
I used to be with the AA, and could always negotiate a lower fee over the phone with them.
About 5 years ago they suddenly wouldn't offer a lower premium (had been with them for decades) so moved to Autoaid.
I have not regretted the move yet.

I used them once to get my car back to my local garage from 40 miles away, no problem at all. My brother in law once used them to get his car recoverred home while on holiday in Scotland, the recovery cost about £500 and they paid him the money within a coupld of weeks no problem at all.
They can often have better covourage than the RAC or AA as they just use whatever local recovery firm is available anywhere in the UK.

Yes, called AutoAid, they sent a local firm to collect the car. We weren't billed or provided with a receipt there and then, so had to pay the local company on the phone and they said they would send a receipt. It took about 6 calls and 6 apologies, but they still never sent the receipt, in the end we had to send a bank statement to Autoaid, who promptly paid us back.
It all rather depends on the local company who is sent out to you, but it took many hours of effort and eventually months for us to get the money back.
Autoaid themselves were fine.

Yes twice. They just call someone local out to you so you need to pay that person and keep the receipts to claim your money back from autoaid. It means you can't really review autoaid as how good the service you receive is, is based on who is called out to help you when you breakdown.

This is the standard price so not really a 'deal' but much better value than the big name rescue firms offer.

Used these for 4 years now and I would highly recommend. The policy covers my wife also. Claimed once during that time and it's really straightforward. Can't understand why anyone would pay for AA or RAC etc

They are brilliant. We had a wheel fall off our caravan 140 miles from home. They sorted it and trailered the caravan home for us after making sure we were OK. No messing getting the money back. Used them several times over several years and would never go anywhere else!
