Fellowes Allergy UK Approved AeraMax DX55 Air Purifier with True HEPA Filter.
Lowest price ever see photo in first comment.
This was £17.99 more expensive at the lightning sales around Christmas.
Do your own research! I had bought one earlier and bought 3 more now for other rooms in the house. Expensive but I think it's worth it. Only you can decide if it is worth it for you!
This might be useful for allergy and hay fever sufferers
Captures common airborne pollutants
Discover the Aeramax DX Range of Air Purifiers and start improving you and your family's health and well-being
The DX Range of Air Purifiers are proven to remove 99.97% of airborne pollutants as small as 0.3 microns, including dust, bacteria, germs and pollen, making them a great solution for relieving symptoms of hay fever, asthma, pet and other allergies.
Why should you use a Fellowes Air Purifier?
Allergens, dust, mould and chemicals all contribute to poor indoor air quality. Indoor air can be five to ten times more polluted than the air outside¹ and on average we spend up to 90% of our time indoors. This can make life particularly difficult for allergy sufferers.
Allergens are airborne, so it's important to purify the air around you. Make living with uncomfortable symptoms more manageable for you and your family with an Aeramax DX Air Purifier.
Fellowes Air purifiers are proud to have the 'Seal of Approval' from Allergy UK. When you see a product with this logo on it, you have the reassurance the product has been scientifically tested to prove it is efficient at reducing/removing allergens from the environment of allergy and asthma sufferers or the products have significantly reduced allergen/chemical content.
The DX Range of Air Purifiers can capture common airborne pollutants including:Dust and Dust MitesPollenAllergensPet DanderMouldOdoursSmokeBacteriaViruses
Filter process
The True HEPA Filter, meets the official HEPA standard, removing 99.97% of 0.3 micron particles. The True HEPA filter is further enhanced by the addition of Aerasafe antimicrobial treatment which offers protection from the growth of odour causing bacteria, mildew and fungi on the filter.
True HEPA filters are designed to capture very fine particles effectively, but they do not filter out gases and odour molecules. To filter out chemical vapours, cigarette and pet odours, it calls for the use of an activated carbon filter in addition to the True HEPA filter - the Fellowes DX Range has both.
The final part of the filter process is the PlasmaTRUE Technology. This creates an ionised field to help safely remove any remaining airborne pollutants, providing a filtration process like no other air purifier.

Oh one important thing NOT TO DO.
In the interests of scientifically testing this product, I breathed into the machine with my open mouth and it didnt speed up. So obviously in the interests of scientific testing I let one go next to the machine and it speeded up like crazy. Which my daughter liked.... or rather liked it too much and went and told everyone in her school including her teachers! Kids just dont know when to shut up. So dont go around testing this in front of your child like me by letting one go or the whole school (and HUKD) will know about it.
ps: Beer burps send it crazy too and also wife using any sprays in the bathroom more than 10 feet away.

Does anyone know if this has a timer function on it?

These work better when always left on. This speeds up when required and slows down when not needed in my experience. I havent bothered to check if there is a timer function as always leave it on. Manufacturer recommends to always leave it on.
Had this a short while and my child breathes better in the room it is in through her nose and in other rooms often has to breathe through her mouth and nose as per her own admission. She is 7y old so will accept her approval of the product than a thousand other reviews, as I bought it for her benefit and now bought 3 more for other rooms in my house too.

bubblesmoney a couple of questions:
The main purpose I want it for is to reduce/stop mould on my walls at least until I can get the walls/roof fixed which could be months/years away! Secondary would be for the wife's asthma. How does the filters work, do i need 2 different filters? How expensive are the filters and how often do they generally need changing?
Also how loud is it especially being left on all day and night.
Thanks

You need a dehumidifier as well.

i guess you would need a dehumidifier and probably this too. the hero's HEPA filter is changed once a year and carbon filter recommended every 3 months just like in fish tanks etc. people seem to be using cheaper carbon filters of kitchen evac units and cutting them to size. see reviews on Amazon for more information.
mould is bad for health so best sort it out with better ventilation and dehumidifiers and air filters if needed.
