Other shops charging nearly double the price for this. Way better than the low quality TP-Link products as well.
The base unit HP-5102AC also has an integrated plug socket built in, so you do not lose a socket when you plug this into the wall.
Extend your wireless signal to previosuly hard-to-reach areas.
• Connect your devices like a TV, game console or PC to the internet through the built-in Ethernet port.
• Speeds of up to 500 Mbps through Powerlines.
• Speeds of up to 300 Mbps over Wi-Fi.
• Easy-to-install - Just unpack the adapters, plug them in and get started.
• Push-and-Secure for an easy secure connection.
• Up to 80% power saving when in standby.
Any good these? - this actual kit, I don't need your opinions on powerlines in general.

If you already have a powerline starter kit containing two plugs much like this kit or many others and therefore one is already plugged into an electrical socket beside your router, after purchasing another kit containing two plugs, can both be used in different locations? i.e. obviously there can't be any need for one plug from each kit having to be connected directly to the router using ethernet?
Other question is currently have an old D-Link (200mbps, I think) starter kit in use. Will these work with those, albeit the speed for all plugs drops to the slowest on the network, so 200mps presumably?
I've read one post commenting that although you can use different brands of these as most use the same standards, different branded ones don't always work well together. Is there any risk that one brand will not work with another particular brand? Would prefer not ordering and finding that out once they arrive!
Thanks.

Some different brands are compatible with each other. What have you got?

The TP Link equivalents have 2 ports whereas this just has 1 so that's a big disadvantage for me

Currently have a D-Link starter kit 200mps. One connected to router upstairs and the other end downstairs. Two ports would have been nice but the built-in wifi booster, if it works well, was needed anyway.
