Snagged one of these today. Cooler Master, who are they? Inside the casing is actually a Seasonic 1000W unit. Hang on, I hear you say, that's a platinum unit, right? Yup. Based on the Seasonic KM3 platform, the insides are near identical to the Seasonic own-brand units. These units do not fully meet the Platinum standards. Not quite. On many measures they do. Incredibly efficient even at low load. All Japanese capacitors, fully modular. Flat cables. Only 270mm long case.
Because I couldn't get an EVGA 650W G2 for my work PC, I have slipped the 750W unit I bought from Argos into that and I am going to use this in my new gaming PC build.
That gave it 9.7/10, but that was based on a price of about £170 inc VAT, at this price no doubt it would have been 9.8/10!!
Loads of videos on YouTube.

This is largely unnecessary for most system builders though.

I just read your post from a year ago. Price has gone up by £5 in the year :disappointed:
Probably not bad considering the way the Pound has fallen against the US Dollar (just as well I get paid in US Dollars)

BTW. I thought I would add something to this. The review I linked to above is by Jon Gerow, aka 'jonnyGURU', who is the Technical Marketing Manager at Corsair. Yes, that's right. In his 'spare' time he tests and gives honest opinions on PSUs from Corsair's competitors!! There is a great video of him being interviewed at using single 12V rails (as the Cooler Master does) and he (jokingly) questions the sanity of anyone who uses a power supply for gaming that does NOT have a single 12V rail. You can watch it here:
That was a hot price at the time! This is still a good price...

PSU's are probably the only PC component that don't drop in price.
I remember when 60GB SSD's were around £100, and 4GB of RAM was over £70. Now look at them! That's not even mentioning the obvious GPU and CPU's that drop the following year when the newer versions get released.
In short, if you see a well priced PSU, buy it.

Forgive me for hi-jacking this thread (I have given the post heat) I had a brand new, sealed, UK supplied V850 on ebay for a month at £109.99 including express delivery, and only got 2 watchers and no buyer. I have 5-star ratings as a seller. Ay idea what I should be asking. Believe it's the same PSU, but just in a lower output.

Who, in the market for one of these, doesn't know who Coolermaster are? o_O
