Not the greatest deal there has ever been in terms of bundled games etc. but still a decent price for one of the better cooling solutions for a 970.

Looks cheap when compared with other places but still way too high ( for a card which came out in Autumn 2014.) I think at the moment it is best to wait for the new pascals, and either buy one of them,or wait and see if these prices drop to something a little more reasonable.

Saw thread, thought "Oh Christ, Ferrari100 will be all over that like a rash" which will turn a discussion about the relative merit of the deal into a prolonged b*tch-fest rant against NVidia
Lo and behold ... :smirk:

Just because the cards remain at this price does not mean they are selling.
There is real competition for this card called the AMD 390 and it is selling far more than this GPU right now for that very reason.
Nvidia are relying on tomb rapier to sell a now poor value GPU.
No one is buying it though. Most people are fully aware this GPU has almost reached the end of it's useful life.

The complete lack of competition is keeping these cards priced so high. It is an excellent card and was priced perfectly upon release. Its time for the next game changer, we hope!

Yeap, i want to get myself a 970 4 gig card, but with these new ones right around the corner, i think i will wait to see what happens with pascal, which i think is out this month some time.
Argh these need to drop in the next month. Buying parts for a new build in Feb, don't want to buy a 970 and then drop straight after but alternative is waiting and having no card!

Building a new Skylake rig at the moment, these prices are not even close to tempting. I'll be putting my old 670 in it until the Pascal cards come out.

Probably the best plan at this rate. I've had this card for nearly a year and it cost me the same price back then as this deal is now.
Since moving from AMD to Skylake my GPU seems to have become the bottleneck as well although I do run everything at 2k and it is still maxxing out pretty much everything that I throw at it.

How would you know the GTX 970 isn't selling and the R9 390 is selling like hot cakes?

Looks like they're selling well http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/videocard/

Note .30% is the lowest reported figure. If the graphics card has less than .30% it is not listed.
The 390 is not listed. It currently commands less than .30% of market share.
See that? That's the percent change of cards on Steam.
The top changing card? The NVIDIA 960 with a .39%
The next best? NVIDIA 750 with .26%
Next? NVIDIA 970 with .14%
I mean, here's some proof, how can you possibly ignore this?
