Cheapest price I've seen for these, good idea if you work away, my favourite feature is the two way audio so you can speak to young children or wind up the dog by saying "walkies" into your phone.

I recently picked-up a Xiaomi Band and realised just how crazy you have to be to use this stuff - the degree of privacy invasion that the Mi Fit app commits is off-the-chart, the idea of putting a camera into my home with similar priviledges is mind-boggling.
For the curious, the Mi Band's app can do pretty much anything it wants. The permissions you have to grant include reading ANY file on your device, taking pictures, creating/switching your network/bluetooth connections, calling ANY number (yes, including premium rate ones) and reading your entire contact list (all your friend's names/numbers) - it even asks for the obsolete 'logs' permission (which was removed because some apps leak sensitive data into the logs - why is a fitness app asking to read that??)
ANYTHING you buy which relies on their software/apps you need to ask yourself if you're happy to share your private data with these people, because they're hoovering-it-up like it's free candy!!

Helpful existing thread for people new to this camera... essential the same camera as the Google Nest.
Can enable RSTP, FTP, SSH etc without using the Chinese app. Also please be aware that out of the box using their app your data is stored on Chinese servers.
Bought one of these from aliexpress during the summer and found it a pleasure to use, as you said great for the dog.

Bought one of this recently and connect it to my Xiaomei router 2 for storage. Works great and the app UI is nice too. Not bad for this price.

Oh the app on iOS is english. Although the timing in the cam is in Beijing time, the vid recorded is in your phone system time so its ok.

I am concerned that the pm, has gone away and left young children and animal to fend for them selves. This a case of neglect. Someone phone childline and rscpa on him.

Don't worry too much, a Chinese syndicate will be along soon enough to kidnap them for ransom
On a more serious note, could this be set to record when motion is detected? I'm thinking garage security camera recording to my HP microserver over my LAN...

Don't worry, they look after each other, I've trained the dog to feed the toddler and the toddler to feed the dog.

Needs WiFi - users have reported that even if an SD card is not inserted your recordings are still available from the servers located in China.
