Shame the 950xl doesn't get the same treatment!

TBH the 950 actually feels better in the hand than the XL. Hoping my Mozo leather back plate improves it, just too slippery!
Great OS and hardware though.

Whats the app situation like on windows phone now I gave it up a couple of years ago as none of my favourite apps migrated there.

Really depends on the apps you use, personally the one one I'm missing is Sonos. The W10 universal apps seems to be arriving daily.
Not sure if this is available on iOS but if you have an android phone, try this app from MS, it will analyse your apps and make suggestions for 1st or 3rd party apps:
I've been Droid for about 5 years now, but I got bored of the same ol' OS and the performance over time is misery, by contrast I'm enjoying the fresh approach of WP, even without every app being available - I don't play games so anything lacking an app I use a responsive website for.

Thought Sonos had arrived, or is about to? Could have sworn I saw a beta about it a couple or so months back?

There's phonos, I haven't used it myself, I'm still on the fence about a Windows 10 phone, I think I'll wait for a price drop

Sadly not yet, it was in private beta since Feb under the guise of "Phish Alpha" but I've no clue how that finished up. With my optimistic head on I'd like to think they were developing a W10 universal app that spanned phone, tablet and PC.
Until then I'm using 'Chirp' otherwise 'Phonos' is the popular paid app, £1.50ish.
