What are the realistic alternatives? With the weather, we have to dry clothes indoors, it also means we can't have windows constantly open.
Something has to give, be it a tumble drier or dehumidifier or just have damp.

Good price but this model is very poor, pulls around a third of the old DEM10 model.

well if this is true I'm glad still use my old one. You would think newer machine would be more efficient..

I am not so sure. I have both of them. Now DES12 is in the room where DEM10 was and it is doing pretty well. Probably as good as DEM10

I've got the DEM10 and am amazed at just how much water it draws up. Tempted to get this one as a second for the laundry room

Bought this model last week direct from De-longhi (£89 inc del); good looking but not as good as the previous model (Dem 10....Still using). It has a very fiddly & badly designed water draw and seems to be considerably louder. Good price but has it's limitations.

I was thinking the RRP looked a bit high on the DES12. I paid about £80 for the DEM10 when I bought it (approx 5 years ago)

I haven't experienced the DEM10 but have a DeLonghi which was 13 years old last week and is permanently plugged in winter and summer and it has been more than excellent. My friend bought this from Delonghi last week and is really impressed with the quietness and the amount of water it is currently extracting. So I suppose, as with all things, different strokes for different folks!!
