I always want the normal sized version of this but from experience it's hard to finish one without going off the flavour completely so this mini version should appeal to allot of people who just want a sensible portion for Christmas

Actually, the weight is 950gms - Aldi got it wrong in the advertising!

7kg is quite a lot.
If you want to be very silly/stupid (delete as appropriate) when on holiday in Spain take the hire car to Seròn to view how the hams are made. Next get drawn in so much that a lovely Spanish man is loading a 12.5kg full leg ham into the back seat (would not fit in boot) and taking €100 off you.
When you get back to the apartment you realise you fly home in 2 days and "What the hell am I doing" hits you. After several beers you sell it for €40 to the bar man having not eaten any of it and now €60 out of pocket.
But nobody is that stupid, right!? :disappointed:

You have to be over 18 to buy ham due to the new WHO guidance that it's carcinogenic.
...... wait - has anyone suggested its because of the knife

This does tempt me as we have avoided them due to the amount of meat on a full leg. Thanks.

Good question but not sure. I'd be inclined to cover it in cling film.

Nice - but when you consider the amount of actual usable ham (excluding the bone) on this, wouldn't you be better off buying it loose? Even from Waitrose?

It's hard to tell but I don't think this smaller version has a bone. If not it'd probably go a pretty long way

Hi, just to help you out, this cut has no bone so you have all meat. Jamon serrano does last a long time after its open, as long as you have it covered it will be ok. If you do see mould, don´t worry, its typical on jamones.
Hope this helps you.

Waitrose Serrano ham is over £40/kg, Aldi £14/kg, even if this was a third bone (which it looks like it isn't) then it would still be better value - fill yer boots!

A quick Google would reveal that Aldi have done this before on pork products.
