Good news for motorists: we're cutting the price of unleaded to 101.7ppl and diesel to 104.7ppl from tomorrow
Blurb
From tomorrow (Wednesday 9th December) drivers filling up at any of our filling stations across the country will pay no more than 101.7p per litre for unleaded petrol and 104.7p per litre for diesel.
Asda is the only retailer that has a national price cap on fuel, ensuring every single one of our customers knows the maximum price they will pay at the pump regardless of where they live.

I heard on the radio the other day that oil prices are half what they were a couple of years ago. Are prices at the pumps half what they were a couple of years ago? Are they bullocks.
I'm sure we filled up at an Asda (Hulme) for 99.something ppl last week.

Instead of taking part in 'Black Friday', it seems their petrol offer to lower to 99.7 over that weekend, was their gesture. It was only ever a special promotion for those days

All the normal filling stations in east leeds around me are still 108/109 and never seem to fall as low as mentioned on here.

Me too. Shame no Asda nearby to take advantage of their national pricing :disappointed:

I got my first car in 1987 and it was £1.70 a gallon, about 37p a litre. All I did was drive my mini for fun as you could afford to.

Approximately adjusted for inflation, that's about 115p a litre.
So it's actually cheaper now. And cars are more economical.
I still very much drive my car and bike around for fun!

Asda always seem to be at the forefront of cuts to fuel prices, glad to hear once again they're taking the lead. At my local, petrol is currently £1.11 per litre for petrol which is appalling. Thankfully my uni is right next to an Asda so I always get a chance to get the cheap prices when they're about.

That's funny, as I got an email from Tesco at 9:30am this morning to say they were cutting their petrol by 2p/litre: http://www.tescoplc.com/index.asp?pageid=17&newsid=1274 - I have no idea if they are cheaper than ASDA though. I don't drive so don't take any notice of petrol prices.
