Small sized onions but great for caramelised onions, or use a couple at time.

I find every time I buy these big cheap bags of onions about a quarter of them are rotten and unusable. Still, 3.75kg onions for a £1 is obviously a great deal. They're just as good any other brown onion, just smaller.

exactly that & by the time you peel them, they are only big enough to pickle

Just out of curiosity what would anyone do with 5kg of onions?

Savoury minced beef, cottage pie, stir fry, caramelised onion gravy or just caramelised onions as a side to say a jacket potato. So many options and the caramelised onions can be frozen so they will last longer.

You could make a massive batch of curry base sauce and freeze it, or invite people round for a curry fest.

If only most people would freeze their 'opinions', rather than putting them out there.

these are a hit in the Asian households as a few onions are needed at a time for a curry. it's how I buy mine ; )

Maybe I should just find out how to turn the iPad auto fill off. The amount of times it wants a z instead of an s is a pain.
