good deal if you are responsible user of credit. I put all my spending on 0% cards and keep the cash in a high interest account such as Nationwide. once the 0% period ends I either flip the debt on to a 0% balance transfer card or pay it off.

Previously the only way to know if you’d be accepted for a credit card was to apply, but that left a mark on your credit file that could be seen by lenders impacting your ability to get future credit. The eligibility calculator matches your information from a ‘soft search’ enquiry (that lenders never see), to a wish-list from lenders to tell you your percentage chances of getting different credit cards.
Please note - ******A transaction must be made within 3 months of account opening to qualify for 0% for the first 27 months otherwise a purchase period of 0% for the first 16 months will apply******

Wish I could be this responsible, people like yourself amaze me and I am very envious.
I could never get this card, I'd be in serious debt in 27 months.

What does it mean by "matched credit card?"

The "Matched Credit Card" is simply the Post Office (kind of) Brand Name for their Credit Card...... It doesn't actually have a 'meaning per sai'.....
The main 'Pros' for this credit card is that it has the longest 0% on purchases deal on the market and doesn't charge a cash fee for Post Office travel money
By and large the main 'Cons' are that, although it offers a reasonable length 0% balance transfer deal, the balance transfer fee isn't competitive.
:-)

I want to help a friend of mine in need to rent a house. In order to make it much easier over the competition I want to offer the agent 3 months rent in advance, I know an estate agent so I'm looking at the most cost effective way to borrow £2,000 or so. I'm thinking this deal could be very useful.

Can you pay the agent with a credit card? If so this deal is the best 0% on purchases in the market
If the agent doesn't take credit card, you could look at a money transfer credit card where the money will go directly into your current account which you could then use for the rent advance. Typically only a few players in the money transfer market, best deal at the moment is Virgin 0% for 32 months with a 1.69% fee for money transfers via Moneysupermarket
