good deal if you are responsible user of credit. I put all my spending on 0% cards and keep the cash in a high interest account such as Nationwide. once the 0% period ends I either flip the debt on to a 0% balance transfer card or pay it off.

Previously the only way to know if you’d be accepted for a credit card was to apply, but that left a mark on your credit file that could be seen by lenders impacting your ability to get future credit. The eligibility calculator matches your information from a ‘soft search’ enquiry (that lenders never see), to a wish-list from lenders to tell you your percentage chances of getting different credit cards.
Please note - ******A transaction must be made within 3 months of account opening to qualify for 0% for the first 27 months otherwise a purchase period of 0% for the first 16 months will apply******

Wish I could be this responsible, people like yourself amaze me and I am very envious.
I could never get this card, I'd be in serious debt in 27 months.

What does it mean by "matched credit card?"
cloudthecat to muffboy
13 Dec 152#7
The "Matched Credit Card" is simply the Post Office (kind of) Brand Name for their Credit Card...... It doesn't actually have a 'meaning per sai'.....
The main 'Pros' for this credit card is that it has the longest 0% on purchases deal on the market and doesn't charge a cash fee for Post Office travel money
By and large the main 'Cons' are that, although it offers a reasonable length 0% balance transfer deal, the balance transfer fee isn't competitive.

I want to help a friend of mine in need to rent a house. In order to make it much easier over the competition I want to offer the agent 3 months rent in advance, I know an estate agent so I'm looking at the most cost effective way to borrow £2,000 or so. I'm thinking this deal could be very useful.
Chanchi32 to fishmaster

Can you pay the agent with a credit card? If so this deal is the best 0% on purchases in the market
If the agent doesn't take credit card, you could look at a money transfer credit card where the money will go directly into your current account which you could then use for the rent advance. Typically only a few players in the money transfer market, best deal at the moment is Virgin 0% for 32 months with a 1.69% fee for money transfers via Moneysupermarket
Well im not happy, checked my Experian score weeks ago and it was good with no issues and theres **** refused me..

Post office credit cards are notorious for being 'selective' of customers based on no particular criteria.

Once had a Post Office credit card backed by Bank of Ireland.
For those of you with successful applications I hope that the customer services have improved.
Just one word of warning - get ready for the most retro online banking service you've seen for a while!
Excellent card and deal otherwise!

Post Office is notoriously bizarre in its awarding of credit,I wouldn't take it personally, they have refused most of the premier league in the past.

I got the same, albeit with a £2,200 limit.
Is the 27 months on purchases subject to status/application? Or is it promotionally applied if you make a purchase within 3 months?
Was looking at Credit Cards anyway. After checking my credit score, the only negative I had was not having a Credit Card - I know right?!

Realistically how much interest do you make?
Lets say you have a 2.0% ISA and immediatly spend 5k. You'll only earn £116. Hardly worth it.

14 Dec 15#35
I see your point but if somebody offered you £116 for free would you go "pah... it's not worth it ?" Using Lloyds, nationwide and TSB current account's I generally average about 3% after tax interest. I've got approx £10,000 on 0% cards so I get about £300 a year. It's not a massive amount but it's free money.

They sent me a letter with further requirements. One copy of documents from four lists seems ok but the last one, payslip or copy of job contract is too much for me. Just not willing to jump the hoop.

I know but lost interest in it. Never had any problems with credit, Nationwide offered to raise my credit limit recently so just not too eager to waste my time on trips to post office etc while other get their cards immediately.

This is a fantantastic offer. I have just got my card & downloaded ioS app just awaiting pin.
One stand out feature about this card not mentioned is in Section 4 of the enclosed leaflet labeled 'Purchase Protection Insurance Policy'
Expecting this to be the standard Credit card protection I was gob smacked to read you get 90 days if your purchase is lost stolen or damaged.
This is like the 80s with Mastercard. No doubt someone will reply & correct me but I know no other CC that offers FREE 90 day lost stolen or damage cover. The is a £25.00 excess which I feel is reasonable.
This card is a 'no brainer' with its 2 year 3 month interest free.
cheers
I missed the TCB but got a high limit.

Cashback up to £30.30 on this. Applied & instantly accepted this morning. Can anyone confirm that when you finish application it says 16 months on purchases? I didn't see any info about it changing to 27 months after making a purchase within first 3 months.
