I just called Three CSA on 333 to upgrade my current contract, and I have mentioned to them that BT mobile is doing 2GB and 500 mins for £10, then they gave me 4GB + Unlimited Mins for £12, which is £9 discount from their list price.

If you stick with it enough you can get this on a 30 day rolling contract.
The actual price for the 12 month sim only deal should be £11/month.

But this is a retention deal rather than a Direct deal from them?

I was offered same deal last week. yes its a retention deal.
don't think it would work for new customers.

I had this deal when my wife and I switched from EE the start of this month; I mentioned a prior Hotukdeals deal for a similar discount given if you ring up and ask for it (it's an existing customer retention discount but it also applies to new customers if you're aware of it).

I've been on the same deal with 3 for the last 6 months after downgrading to sim only. Suits me fine

Sim only is great, and month to month at least you can leave and get another great deal if there is one somewhere else. I do like three though.

Yes, they give you a better deal if you commit sign up for 12 months than go on a month by month basis.

Were you at the end of a 3 contract or part way through?

Offered same deal about a month ago. I had an expiring contact with t-mobile which was very good value for what I received but valued the roaming & 4g more highly with 3.
The Feel at Home feature is amazing value if you are fortunate to travel to participating countries.

Living just across the Channel from France my phone would often connect to a French signal as UK one weak or blocked by cliffs. So much better now I don't have to pay extra for when this happens.

I'd ring them and ask what they could offer you, they do have some good deals if you look on their website, but you can always try by asking.
