I just called Three CSA on 333 to upgrade my current contract, and I have mentioned to them that BT mobile is doing 2GB and 500 mins for £10, then they gave me 4GB + Unlimited Mins for £12, which is £9 discount from their list price.

*12 month sim only deal
- JusticeForThe96

If you stick with it enough you can get this on a 30 day rolling contract.
The actual price for the 12 month sim only deal should be £11/month.

I had this deal when my wife and I switched from EE the start of this month; I mentioned a prior Hotukdeals deal for a similar discount given if you ring up and ask for it (it's an existing customer retention discount but it also applies to new customers if you're aware of it).

Offered same deal about a month ago. I had an expiring contact with t-mobile which was very good value for what I received but valued the roaming & 4g more highly with 3.

The Feel at Home feature is amazing value if you are fortunate to travel to participating countries.

No, their network is slow and coverage is worse that Vodafone in the cities where I use both networks. They're the cheapest and I would say they're also the most oversubscribed network because of it.

I mentioned it in the other three thread but I got absolutely nowhere with the 3 retentions team the other night.

I'm already on a decent deal (not as good as some of the others that commented on that deal) with 600mins, unlimited data & txt for £18 per month. That was the standard price a couple of years ago when I signed up for the 12 month sim only contract but as I'm way over that I thought I'd try my luck.

The best he could do was reduce my minutes 200 to knock a couple of quid off (even though I average 500+).

Hi I got the same deal as the op, you need to call them and tell them you are leaving and be prepared to follow it through, make out as if your not bothered at all but still be pleasant with the person on the phone we started at £18 and kept on going down to 12. I have heard of people getting it for £10 but persevere and make sure you go to the cancellations department. Also tell them you are being offered a better deal with BT or some other provider with cashback.

Advised me to get a 1 month rolling and to give cancellation notice immediately after receiving sim card then I'd be put through to retentions who would be able to do something about a discounted rate.

Bloody hell - this is EXACTLY what I want... currently paying £9.90 for a SIMO contract, 600 minutes/unlimited texts and 1GB data. I've been with them for nearly two years now so out of contract yet every time I see something like this I ring them up and get the same, stock answer. First I say I'm thinking of leaving, maybe put a couple of other network offers out there, but then I say I want to stay – and can I have this sort of deal? First they tell me what my usage is like (I've gone over my mins and data about 4 times) and then they tell me I don't really warrant the upgrade - I wouldn't use it. But as I always point out, I'd use it more if I had it! I only use it sparingly as I get closer to my limits as their over-charges are usually quite high. They never seem to be able to grasp that? When I persist they offer me this contract at retail price. Always.

Right, so what’s the advice this time? I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but I never seem to get anywhere with them. I’m almost sickly over the top with my telephone manor so it can’t be that?

Help!

Got it! Nice one OP...

I was persistent but then so was he - initially offered me it for £14 instead of £21 after speaking to his manager, which I politely declined. He kept on telling me how good an offer it was and that I would be saving £7 a month/£84 a year etc. but I held on. I threw an imaginary £12 BT like-for-like offer into the mix and that seem to interest him, especially the bit about unlimited minutes. He was very keen to stress the 'unlimitlessness' of Three's contracts compared to others. Anyway, I said I'd think about it which he didn't like, said that the offer might not be here next time so I put him on the spot, said if he could do me the deal for £12 I'd sign up there and then... another 2 minutes on hold and he came back with the good news :smirk:

This must have been my third try over the last year or so to be fair so it must just depend on who you get and when you call etc. So keep trying people! It’s worth it.

Thanks OP.

Three were once the cheapest. Not necessarily any more. This is a good deal though. Their coverage is area dependant just like all networks. Three have a lot of customers demanding the cheapest price, customers that have been with them since they were throwing everything at customers at the cheapest price.

Three have bought O2, pending approval, which should create the best network in the UK, but that isn't expected to be finalised until July. Then of course who knows how long it'll take to merge the networks. If you want to check data speeds in your area it might be worth grabbing a cheap PAYG sim and testing it out.

I don't really use all the mins and texts but often get to about 7/8Gb data a month inc tethering.

Had some rather bad connection problems with Three in Oxford St in London - I contacted them and went through some very detailed troubleshooting with their Tier 2/3 techs, they actually did what they said they would and also contacted me a week later to see if I'd had proper resolution of the problem (I don't frequent that area much but they did do what they said they would). The original fault was down to tower repair/maintenance which they were up-front about which is a good thing.

Got this deal for £11 a month a couple of months back when a similar retentions deal was posted, I think a lot of people were offered it at the time.

The first person I spoke to would't offer me anything anywhere near this good, I had to tell them I wanted to leave and ask for my PAC code before they put me through to someone else who offered it to me (but only when they thought I was going to leave). They told me that it was a one-off, one time only deal, just for me!

My experience with three:

Great customer service
Great prices
Super crap signal!

In the end I couldnt justify having such bad signal everywhere even for a low cost so went back to EE :disappointed:

Let me know how you get on. I'm on the same deal (been on it a couple of years, month to month) and tried calling the other day after seeing what everyone else was on in the other 3 thread. Got nowhere with the retentions team as its £7 per month cheaper than the current price for the same plan.

All they would do was offer to reduce my mins to make it slightly cheaper, even though I average 500+.

This is a great deal pricewise but H3G signal is weak generally in my area.
Also one of the reasons I bought H3G was because of the FEEL AT HOME feature but when I went to Austria I barely got access to the internet.
Check your local signal with H3G before buying.

Urgh. I had 3 lines with 3 and wanted to renew but they kept saying some bs like "we don't offer loyalty discounts anymore as we believe all customers should pay the same" so I jumped to Voda with their VEA programme. Oh well, can go back when they decide to stop kicking people off tariffs if they use more than 1GB of data on an unlimited data bundle. They didnt even try to keep me when I asked for my PAC on all 3 lines. Probably had hit their targets for that month I guess

Three's signal drops like the weather changes. 4G to 3G hand over does. If you haven't noticed. I think they haven't used the right equipment yet. I read on some blog. Until then your stuck with that in places. How eco friendly. The only good thing is their speeds at times, even that is dropping. The rest of them is so poor. Poor I've had arguments all the time I rang them up for something. I have an iPhone too. I doubt it's my phone lol.

:sunglasses: Just switched from £10 a month with 2GB/200mins/unlimited txt to this deal at £12 a month (12 month contract). Also comes with free unlimited voicemail.

First thing they'll say is the deal has expired. Just say you've been passed the info from someone who was approved this morning. Worked for me. My old deal expired in Sept 2015 but I stuck with it.

If you need another argument just say BT is offering the same deal for £13.

Bargain.

Brilliant, thanks OP!

Just got this deal after a simple to and fro with the kind CS advisor. Asked for my PUK code, he went through my reason for leaving (more data), checked my usage then offered me the 200m/2GB plan for £11p/m.

I asked to get it at £10p/m, he then said the ONLY plan they are discounting right now for existing customers is the Unlimited mins/txt/4GB plan, normally £21, but with his managers approval he can give it to me for £12p/m. I was previously on 600m/5000txt/1GB for £9.90(inc £3 discount) for far too long - just being lazy.

I had told him about the BT deal of 2GB for £10p/m and that helped move things along.

Just be warned though, while he informed me of all the T&C's, I noticed the access rate for calling service charge numbers (084, 087, 09, 118) has gone up from 25ppm to 45ppm plus whatever the service company decide to levy.

Overall, a good result for a 5 minute chat on the phone.

Couldn't get a better deal on either contract :-(

My 600min/1GB for 12 Quid with them expired a long time back - and just out for sheer laziness I have been on the same plan but on a 30 day rolling contract. Tell them what you want, ie. this deal, and then ask them what they can do... remember the new customer price is £21. My first offer was £14 (like most people) and then I mentioned I was looking at leaving, going to another network, I mentioned BT. Said I could get the same deal with them for £12. The agent then asked his manager and that was it, I got the green light. Well happy because these deals never usually happen for me :sunglasses:

For any new customers, I tried this and it worked.

If you don't need unlim mins and happy with 600 mins, all you need to do is get a PAYG 3 sim for free then activate it then enter number here:
http://www.three.co.uk/existing_customer_offers

You'll get 600 mins, unlim text and 4gb data for £13/mo which works out cheaper than the Quidco offers. You also have 14 days to cancel or call retentions if they do any black friday specials too!

Update

I ordered a new 1 month rolling 8GB and 600 min sim on Sunday night and it arrived on Tuesday. I activated last night and called them today. Asked them to beat a fictitious offer I had received from EE when I requested my PAC from them. Told them I needed unlimited minutes and at least 4 GB of data and was happy to turn my new rolling contract into a 12 month one if the deal was good. Got passed onto another department and after some negotiations I was offered the following;

4GB and unlimited calls - £12/month (12 month contract)
8GB and unlimited calls - £18/month (1 month rolling)

I took the 8GB option as it gives me room to negotiate further after trying it for size.

So new customers can also benefit from these deals if you are nice to them I guess.

Just called them and firstly they offered 2GB data 200 mins and unlimited texts for £11 a month. I flat refused and mentioned the BT deal and out came the 4GB unlimited texts and unlimited minutes deal. Tried to get it for cheaper but the chap wasn't having any of it. Couldn't be bothered calling retentions and getting a PAC code to try and play games with them to get it even cheaper as it's a decent deal already.
