I don't see the problem with remaking classic games for the modern generation of consoles. It gives people who played them back in the day the chance to play them in hd beauty, and younger audiences who wouldn't entertain playing older gen consoles because of the graphical backward step they would have to take get the chance to paly these awesome games. well done nintendo. at the end of the day, nobody has to buy these, but the option is there for those that want it.
it always makes me laugh when people complain about hd remakes on games, but people rarely complain when movies like star wars are upgraded from vhs to dvd to bluray. whats the difference?

I'll admit the Wii U cover of TPHD looks nice but the original is still untouchable:

It's only worth if you want the content they have locked away, like the cool Mii Racing Suits for Mario Kart 8, ability to play Mario Party 10 at its fullest or tons of different costumes in Yoshi's Woolly World (except Pokémon amiibos, unless they fixed it now).

If Twilight Princess HD Special Edition only features the amiibo then I might go for the Standard Edition but if I can get it for £45 (like I did with Xenoblade X LE -- well £39 instead) then it'll definitely be worth it (sell off the amiibo since it'll probably have some value at launch).

There's a soundtrack coming with it as well, which should make it well worth it IMO. Possibly only for pre-orders - but then, pre-ordering might be essential!
I fear another GAME exclusive for the UK, but we'll see...

If it's a GAME exclusive then it'll either cost £50 or £60. If it'll go for £50 then I might bite.
Thanks for this illusionary  and the zelda info too!

Skyward Sword was intended to be played with the Wiimote so give it a chance, it's like someone thinking Rodea's Wii U version is better due to being controlled with the GamePad/WUPC/Wiimote + CCP when it really isn't.

Well Nintendo Direct was just enough to tear me away from Fallout 4 for a few minutes. This is all great news - now, between the Wii U and 3DS, almost every Zelda game is available on current gen Nintendo hardware in at least one form. I think only Skyward Sword is missing, and it would be great if there was a Wii U HD re-release of that as well.
You could have always played the GameCube version! Link is left-handed, as he is supposed to be, in that version too - they made him right-handed for the Wii version as most people would be swinging the Wii remote with their right hands. Apparently he's back to being left-handed in the Wii U version!

It's a Wii game - which means that you can already play it on Wii U! :stuck_out_tongue:
