This will be a first gen i7, There is no exactly 2.6ghz i7 offered on the 8440 range but I believe it will be the Intel Core i7-620M (dual core) or the 720M (which was quad core). This laptop is from 2010 so at this sort of money I think it is very expensive for what you get.

I have noted it has an SSD but this must be an aftermarket addition as this model only ever came with up to 256gb SSDs. That or they have mislabled it as they did offer 500gb mechanical drives with it. For me given it's age the machine is being sold because i7 as a brand is seen as being really fast, there's nothing wrong with it, but for nearly £300 I can't help but thing you can get a much better deal.

I'd much rather take a mechanical drive with a newer i7 and then add a new SSD that you know how much life it's going to have left.

For me I'd pick this, buy a small SSD to go in it, get a DVD bay hard disk caddy for the old drive and end up with a laptop with better graphics, faster quad core processor, SSD, second hard drive and Full HD screen. All in about £10 more than this deal but in my opinion a better all round option.

cold for on the basis that a laptop should be portable, and this will be as portable as a desktop given it will be reliant on always being powered on.
