My gf has 1gb version and never complains about lag or poor performance. As always with smartphones it's really dependent on the kind of user you are, and for a lot of people 1gb is absolutely fine.

ive just replaced my 2nd gen moto G with the lg g3 offer..
8gb runs out even with all apps moved to sd, and 1gb ram the phone is too laggy...
go for an upgrade

if this is the 8gb version then the su6 is the better phone by a long way. if its the 16gb one then its about equal on spec but the su6 will be at least £50 cheaper

I second this I have a 1st gen XT1039, I thought that I would be fine having an SD card but even moving every app I can I still am running out of space and it is crying out for more RAM.

I have an 8gb 2nd gen and I can't install anything on it, even with cache wipes due to the bloody tiny internal space. Can't install anything directly to the SD card.

Totally agree,bought one for my OH a few months ago and the 8GB is now nearly fully and she hasn't that many apps on it.You need imo minimum 2GB ram and 16GB storage with micro SD slot as well

1GB RAM is not enough any more, and neither is 8GB of flash. Go for the larger version - unfortunately it was quite expensive when I checked.
