I don't think this is a bad price for this spec at all. Noramlly around 320 for a refurbished model! Resolution is 1366 x 768 which may bother you. Personally i think for most, it is more than adequate.

What's your recommendation for an 5th gen i5 laptop or equivalent performance with a 13inch screen of a higher resolution at this price.

I like when people post a deal is rubbish but offer no link for the better option
Good price and good spec ..... Heat added

Would be hot if it weren't for the resolution. I couldn't go back to that now.
Not voting either way, as decent for someone who doesn't know any different.

Too expensive for a 1366 x 768

I actually think it's quite reasonable, yeah 1920 x 1080 would be great but at this size and spec, i think it's fairly decent at the moment. Each to their own of course. That's just my opinion

It would be useful if you could also point to the better alternative you have in mind with a higher resolution screen and having identical or better specs?

Its a convertible with an i5 for just under £350 they have to cut costs somewhere and besides 768p is fine for a 13"

Good price for the specs, but I'm looking for fanless/ssd/8gb config, so going to pass this one.

You mentioned the problem in your reply. It's a 5th generation i5. But the components are not up to that spec and wont be able to it justice. Bog-standard graphic-chip, sound card, 1366 x 768, 13.3 inch screen, - I expect and i5 to be able to handle heavy gaming, but this won't. You can't just talk about an "i5" - (at this high level) -everything else counts as well. You need to spend a whole lot more to get the rest of the laptop up to that i5 processing standard. I bought a 15.3 inch, i3, with standard graphics and sound card, for £325 in 2013. It's ok for streaming and stuff, but I wouldn't consider it to be a heavyweight amongst laptops. Technically, this would be COLD, but I did not vote. BTW, it's a 1366 x 768:)

1366 x 768 is killer, even mobile phone and tablet PC do better than these days. No doubt why PC sales are so poor these days...

Not really. It's fine for a 13.3". The bigger factor is the quality of the panel. I've seen 1920x1080 panels that look awful and 1024x768 that look pretty good. Resolution in this context isn't determinative of picture quality.

Think you overestimating the abilities of a mobile, low power I5 cpu there
