I had just bought one of these badboys from Maplin for £10 and then noticed this online from Asda. A few quid cheaper.

Fine on a cheap knife, but do not use these on decent knives. The amount of metal they remove is brutal, seriously.

How should we hone our knives, oh knife-master? And the turkey's ready and everybody's already baying for meat-flesh-horror and there's no time to sit cross-legged in our knife-sanctuary pouring sacred oils onto our honing stones?
I'm only being semi-sarcastic as I'm borderline knife freak and think these have their place.

For people like me that haven't been successful at sharpening knifes before with them stones then this makes it a tad easier/effective. Sure you won't turn a knife into a scalpel but it does bring life to a blunt knife

Yep, got one last week in store and it works a treat.
My cheap knives are really sharp now and cut much better.
Even does some types of serrated knives.
