yes better without nets, birds don't get caught up and they are ideal for smaller birds, like Dunnock that trying store fat reserves for the cold weather ahead. This morning had coal tits, Blue tits, small dunnock all pecking away to hearts content over these net free fat balls, don't get little feet stuck in the nets - So Net free all way!!
