I am one of those "I never want to fly Ryanair again" people who always end up flying with them again as they are, to some credit, generally the cheapest and I have always found them prompt!
If everyone does what I am posting below already or this has been posted before then my apologies but here goes - see if it works (may even work with other airlines):
1. Even if you are booking for more than one person, check out the cost of a one person flight cost and then two, then three, etc. On-line sites generally work on a demand basis so you might find that by booking (say) four people on immediately you will go to the next pricing level whereas by booking one or two at the lower price then the others at the next price band, etc.
2. You would normally book an outward flight with a return but if you book Ryanair bags in, say, Euros (ie book outward and return separately) you should pay the same as the pound charge (I tried Manchester to Faro and that gave me £35 baggage out but €35 back which is a bit a saving if you don't mind the faffing about)!
3. When you have booked seats on Ryanair don't go for the Priority Q option to purchase as this should be included in the seat booking.
4. If you want to go to a destination that is busy because, say, your team are playing a match there. Why not fly via another country (again its a faff but we have saved £200 each going via Amsterdam for England vs Italy rugby). I remember flying to Madrid via Majorca for a European game - saved a packet.
Please try these first before screaming at me in a return post or comment!
Expecting this to be chilly but heyho - its a saving for some hopefully!

Such an awful airline - You have to make your own way to the airport, they don't send a Chauffeur. Then you have to carry your bags to the terminal, no Valet is provided.
How uncivilized.

we recently flew to Spain.
I had one small suitcase, the lightest possible for an adult.
My children both had large suitcases, much heavier. However, a child's luggage is half the price of an adult's, so it was a big saving. You have to have at least one adult paying full price for a suitcase but it doesn't have to be particularly big.
You just need to be sure when checking in the luggage to use the right boarding pass with the right suitcase!

Also if booking return leg in Euros, click more in conversion box to deselect Ryanair doing the conversion. if you have a good card with low conversion fees you can save more. €14.99 with Ryanair conversion is roughly £11.80 but only £10.14 with my Travelex Supercard.

Ha ha, been doing all this for over ten years ......tomorrow I will take three flights to get to Granada, a cost of about £60 each, direct is £140 each.......I still use Ryanair and also admire how prompt they are, unfortunately they don't fly from my local airport...........also check British Airways as I am flying back for £18 each which includes two items of hand luggage and free food and bar- enjoy.

2.
Also try booking return flights separately e.g. the leg there separate to the journey back, this will be priced in Euros and can be cheaper.

Did this flying back from Faro this summer, realised it was cheaper for the flight and baggage as it is in Euro's. Def worth checking the single flights.

This probably won't help many people and it's not a massive saving but if you are flying from Bristol airport and need to use a trolley they will charge you £2 for the privilege, but if you have euros then you can pay €2 instead of £2.

aren't you just repeating what grinnaslee said or did you just use the quote function to make it clear what you were responding to?
