These are nicely built laptops (business class).
There is an option for a very nice backlit keyboard. They can be picked up fairly cheaply, if the one supplied does not come with it (there is a little 'light' icon on the right cursor key if its a backlit keyboard). Depending on your Bios settings FN+Right Arrow switches the backlight on (otherwise the light sensor switches it on automatically) http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=e6400+backlit+keyboard&_sop=15

I thought your advice was poor, your reasons for not buying was poor, and I was disagreeing with you. This does not make me rude.

I've been using this same machine for the past 2 years. Ordered another for a colleague with an upgrade on ram from 2gb to 4gb (upgrade cost £14.99).

Your better off buying your own 4gb RAM from eBay for a little bit less and then selling the RAM you got out off the laptop.

Solid model, i have had no trouble with mine. Unusually it has a full size displayport output, quite useful.

My current one has 4 USB ports, a hdmi port and a sim card port also, along with a slot for an SD card. Also great for small businesses and as a second machine.

Why is this not hotter?
Seems like quite a good lappy for under £100, no?

what graphics card did you get and where did you get it if you don't mind me asking? this is pretty much what I'd want to do with it.
