Seems a good deal considering the specs and screen size, most around this price seem to only have sub 12" screens. My son needs a replacement for his ageing Dell Latitude, so looking for a good laptop buy just for student work (not games, social etc), even refurb as the cheaper the better at the moment, and HUKD PC guru's got some suggestions?

Daughter's getting into photography and have just purchased her a fuji S8200 bridge camera for christmas, looking at a cheap laptop that will run photoshop, Fotor, Serrif etc would this do it?
If not any advice would be welcome (£230 budget)

It will run it but it will be painfully slow. For your budget you would better off looking for a refurbished laptop with i5 processor and 8gb of ram

Will she be doing the photo editing at home? If so don't get a laptop, you'll be paying double the cost for half the performance.

ebuyer sell refurbs as new, with a little poking around you will find something. When I tried to register the warranty of a laptop i purchased off ebuyer it had already been registered the year before.

I wonder what the power consumption difference is between this and the thinkpad x220 with an i5 that was posted here for 88 quid on equivalent settings. I think I know which one I'd rather have lol, it's arriving today
