Because it's a quality machine that should last 12 plus years.
If people want cheap unreliable crap then buy a Hotpoint / Indesit and replace it every 2 years when it breaks down and costs more than the original price to get it repaired.

Id be tempted to go down this route then, surely it would be easier to return if there are any issues?
