Fill in the form with the agent in store and fixed every time. Used it on my iMac recently that was 4 years old. This only works on products purchased direct from apple

TBH Applecare is available for £20 on ebay, so I would personally do that route as you can get a much better deal on the Ipads, if you really want that 3 year warranty

Buy Apple only with extended warranty, ideally from Apple, otherwise reputable dealers like John Lewis. Avoid "deals" from random online retailers who don't understand their obligations as sellers.
I'll not be buying Apple again (yes, I was a fanboy). Having just experienced my iPhone 5S die 13 months into a 24 month contract, I was told by Apple to go away. I bought online from buymobiles.net. Yeah, avoid them too.

Take not if you have a warranty problem you need to take it to John Lewis to send away / sort. Not just drop into Apple Store as if it does get swapped via apple the warranty serials will change.

Isn't AppleCare just an extension to 2 years?

But this is free 3 years warranty, and from the most reputable seller.

That would put you off Apple.
I thought the new EU legislation meant you were covered under warranty now.
Is there nothing you can do?

This seems rather harsh. And rather illegal. Although to be fair more info is needed. Like what was the fault and dos Apple actually tell you to 'go away'.

Really, I love apple.
Managed to damage the internals severely of my iPhone during a diy housing replacement. Lines across screen, home button flex broken, chassis bent, charging port damaged and headphone jack too after trying to replace the housing.
I simply closed it, took it to Apple Genius Bar on appointment(ref: home button wasn't working) , and they replaced the phone then and there.

As the phone was technically purchased by finance on contract they have an obligation to cover the device fit for purpose during the term of finance. So this will be with your carrier.
This is of course assuming a component has failed rather than external or water damage.

yes, but add another, so 2x £20 so £40.... JL are always top dollar on Apple stuff, so it is not a free warranty, far from it

I am 99% sure as I tried this before you can only extend Apple care by the extra year not by 2 years

ahh ok, that makes sense, so one would have to work out if it made fiscal sense to pay the premium for the 3rd year of warranty

Yep or you push with the SOGA either way if it's the same price at most places go with JL save loads of hassle

You're exactly right. You can not stack Applecare. Extends iPads to 2 years. That's all.
Opening post
Offer ends 03 November 2015, so buy your iPad now in time for Guy Fawkes Night :)
Yes I know it' s Apple, but some people do seem to like iPads, and a 3 year guarantee is good.
Offer extended past November 3rd
