Love Riga, Heat added.
People must bear in mind Wizzair's baggage allowance is slightly less than Ryanair / Easyjet .

Surprisingly expensive city which can be pretty much seen in 1 day
Nothing will compare to Lapland in February this year! It was minus 16 and my nostrils froze together

Minus 34 is the coldest temperature i've ever been in. It was in Riga around 7 or 8 years ago & i also got frozen nostrils. I purchased a bowl of tomato soup from a cafe & put the bowl on my nose
Best part of it was that i said to the waitress that it was " very cold today " to which she replied " it's not so bad " . Must be damn tough those Latvians

We did Lapland at Christmas a few years back. Christmas Day was -37. On a sled with wind chill = -55. Kids crying everywhere . At that temp exposed skin turns purple and starts to flake off. Marvellous !

I'll take your -37 and raise (err, lower) it to -43. Me and the Mrs got married at the Ice Hotel in Northern Sweden. It was astonishingly cold. But fantastic.

Yikes! And that's not just the temperature but the price of the Swedish Ice Hotel!! I stayed in the one in Transylvania but it was only about minus 10. Surprisingly slept very well.
