Depends. If you're spending that much time in a chair and want to look after your back then Herman Millers are incredible. All top end execs etc use them. NASA control centres have them.
Try one and you'll see how good they are.
Nonetheless I do agree that the rrp is a joke.

Agree Herman Millers are very good chairs, but then NASA's 2015 budget is USD 18 billion.
