I can't recommend this either, the mesh back came off after less than two weeks of occasional use (same as this), the instructions are terrible, head rest is too low (and I'm only 5'10") and it's just not very comfortable. Just hoping Ryman will give me a refund - I've unfortunately thrown away the original packaging.

mine came today, put it up in 30 min. instructions are laughable. had to take the seat of because I'd done it wrong. part of the instructions are taped to the box.comfy though, wish the head rest was a little taller.

I did exactly the same - the instructions had me tearing my hair out with what should go where and I must have spent over an hour with my similar model.

Bought it, headrest is straight up for a different chair, the screw for it is way too big and the chair has 2 holes to attach a headrest which are both off center.
The rubber grommeting around the sides is also a joke, it was half hanging off and a load of staples holding the mesh on are exposed, bent out (one cut me when I was putting it together) or simply fell off in the box.

The quality of this is terrible, the tilt adjust screw cap broke away and as did the back of the chair, I wouldn't mind if I was overweight - but I'm 10st 9!!

Better to spend the money upfront on a decent chair than later on when your neck and back are wrecked and you are missing days of work and spending hundreds on physio and massage. Always find it odd when people comment on the expense of some of the top quality office chairs yet think it quite normal to spend far more on sofas and beds.

I have a problem with my back sadly, where everything is focused into the bottom of my spine, around the tail and causes a lot of discomfort after about 30 mins sitting down.
Any ideas what chair might be best for my needs? Cheers.

I have a similar mesh one from ikea (without a headrest though) and it's really comfortable. I highly recommend giving mesh backs a go.

I have a thin blanket over the back (not the head rest) to solve the dust problem and a large cushion on the seat. I take the blanket off during the summer.

I can recommend this one, used it for around two years now, still in perfect condition.
I bought it and my old cheapo £30 chair with a cracked seat was more comfortable. I ended up selling it a few months later since its just not comfy at all. Alot of dust got into the mesh chair in just a few months, only found out when I was doing a quick wipe of it before the buyer came to collect. Just take a towel and whip on the seat and you'll know what I mean.

Depends. If you're spending that much time in a chair and want to look after your back then Herman Millers are incredible. All top end execs etc use them. NASA control centres have them.
Try one and you'll see how good they are.
Nonetheless I do agree that the rrp is a joke.

Glad you had a better time building than me. Mine is a slightly different model but the instructions were of the "attache angulare sprocket" type written in chinese english.

Reasonable price I suppose ...But solid armrests hmm ...if your sitting for any length of time I would want them padded.....sod playing Metal Gear V and screwing up the Big Boss by slipping off at a crucial Moment.... Snaaaaake....:confused:

I have an almost exact model of this. It is very comfortable BUT it was an absolute pain putting it together (not helped by chinese instructions which will have you tearing your hair out). Be aware these come flat packed and you have to constuct yourself.

putting it toegther was a doddle. taking it apart was a different story....they dont provide instructions on how to do this. its almost like the chair was not designed to be taken apart. trying to remove the gas lift from the base stand was a nightmare and i had to give up!

Depends on if you like the meshy style rather than a solid back. I personally like it but others may think it is too much like a hammock swinging in the wind.
Would a chief executive of a company sit in this for 8-10 hours a day? No! But their budgets would be 25 times this.

nope. id be willing to spend a bit more money. staples gotham chair was by far the comfiest i sat in. £130 though. but if you're sitting in it for 8-10 hours id pay the price!

ordered it last week and promptly returned it. the neck piece is not height adjustable. the only thing that is adjustable is the seat height via the gas lift. im just shy of 6 foot and when sitting upright the neck support is at the top of my shoulder blades....only when you lean back (like a dentist chair) does the neck support line up.
for the price it was pretty comfy but id recommend going in the shop to try them out as trying to dissembled these cheap chairs to return to store was a pain in the ****!

Looks nice but I can't imagine the mesh back is very supportive. Ok for occasional use but one with proper adjustable backrest and lumbar support would be better for extended use.
Good price tho.
