I think this is worth flagging up again it being extremely good value for money. A £5 over the counter top up at the Post Office for their "own" mobile phone service spent on a 30 day bundle gets the above, plus £5 of bonus credit that expires after 30 days too that cannot be spent on a bundle but ordinary Post Office mobile call rates should you burn through any bit of the bundle. The call rates themselves are nothing special but the bundles are, imo. Service is provided by EE.
* Note: do not use any credit before buying a bundle
I'd suggest you look at one of those articles that tell you how to set your phone up in a better way. I'd guess you have all kind of apps that you've allowed to do background updates which are sucking at your data allowance (and performance) all of the time when they aren't really needed.
Not all people use a 4G signal for viewing videos - it's a real benefit for web browsing or many apps that are otherwise limited by internet speed. If you've used 4G and then travel to an area without it you really notice it - even if you don't use that much data.
Perhaps those who think 4G is unnecessary for light users are still using WAP?
This looks a good deal for those who don't have a 4G phone, and will make it easy for them to move to the 4G world when they are ready.

Spot on service for me,left giffgaff due to very poor signals, joined post office and its been great ,if they keep the prices for a long time and not get greedy ,they will keep customers .keep up the great service.

I'm finding the giff gaff mobile data service is becoming very poor. Even when visiting central London, it's excruciatingly slow now. It used to be fine.
However, Post Office basic charges seem higher. e.g. Data @ 10 p per MB, where for 20p on giff gaff, I can get up to 20 MB.
Or texts PO 10 P, giff gaff 6p. I suppose the Post Office bundle would soften the blow. Particularly if the internet connection actually works.

life mobile is better as you can set a cap imo , 500 min, 500 text , 500gb £5 month
completely incomparable, one is a monthly contract, one is PAYG
why is being able to set a cap better? being on PAYG you cant EVER run up a bill, so comparing it to a monthly contract with a cap is next to useless.

That sounds really good, but those are just summer prices. Do you know what the regular prices are for bundles?

For those wanting to know, (like me), what network Post Office Mobile, and Life Mobile uses, they both use the EE network.

For anyone else curious, the customer service is superb out of Post Office Mobile. I've emailed them a couple of queries and they've always come back within a day.
Also, the bonus top-up (first one per month) is great. Put £10 on, get £10 extra. So i've got £10 to spend if I go over my bundle.

Is the data 4g or 3g only
shefy

Will be only be 3G signal as EE wouldn't share 4G yet

4g is being introduced later this year, but why would you need 4g with a 500mb limit?

haven't they already shared 4g with BT Mobile who piggy back off of EE?
