Don't know why people advise to buy a size up in Shimano shoes. I'm a size 10 and bought Shimano MT34's in size 45 which is a size 10 to 10 1/2 and fit perfect. If you want to wear 10 pairs of socks in the winter, then maybe..
If you have a shop nearby, probably best just to go try a pair on and see how they fit, but I personally wouldn't want to wear a pair of cycling shoes that would be sliding around as I pedal
I paid about £40 for my MT34's and no issues after a few months, would recommend. Not sure what's available for less

If you're going for shimano shoes go a size up, check out crc and wiggle too.
