Had call today from three asking if they could make my contract cheaper … was pay £15 for 4gb data and unlimited text and calls. I travel quite a bit so the use the Feel at Home regularly which is great service.
They have offered to match my contract, but knock off £3 a month, but I am tied in now for 12 months. As I have no intention of moving from 3 (and will be buying new handset out right) think that this is a good deal for me and may be useful for others who call three and ask for the same deal?

No, they just phone me out of the blue. I assume that they wanted to get me to upgrade to new handset but have an eye on a new phone but waiting for the new one to be released (dare not mention which brand as may affect people's votes).

Did you ring them first asking for cancellation/pac etc or they just rang you out of the blue?

I have the same but not in a 12 month contract, they put me on a rolling 1 month contract... Worth trying that.
I rang them to cancel my contract after 24 months of having my galaxy s4..

was it hard to convince them to do this? I would prefer ability to cancel after a month … but given the benefits I have with Three I am not sure I will ever beat this deal and will be buying new handset out right rather than being tied into a very expensive 24 month deal

Tell them you no someone who has the following contract...
I rang them, to cancel as they wasn't offering the best galaxy s6 offers. Told them I was thinking about buying the phone outright and going on pay as you go. They looked into how many minutes, texts and internet I use. (I preferred unlimited internet as I was on the one plan before, but they wouldn't give me that for under £25) They mentioned that I have never used more than 4gb in a month and this is perfect for me. I can cap it also. I decided not to cap it, I have never been over my allowance yet, that's in 2 bill cycles so far. So I'm quite happy!

Fell like at home is useless in Tenerife and Gran Canaria. Just came back from 14 days holiday . I have tried to use three sim card for internet . Basic website took nearly 5 minutes to open. No way to use skype and other voip apps. I have tried to switch between networks : orange, movistar and yoigo . I could see 4g on the screen but connection so slow. I am sure spanisch networks give you access to the internet but setting up low speed limit for Three users. Wasn't happy at all.

Next time, if you know how, try forcing the connection to be 3g instead.

I have just done 15 nights in Gran Canaria, 3g signal on movistar. Couldn't really stream YouTube etc that well but other than that websites were all loading fine for me and my partner.

I was in Fuerteventura two weeks ago and done a speed test a few times and got about 10Mbps regularly.
I think they must only allocate a certain amount of bandwith to 3 so the more people logged onto the masts data the slower the connection.
TV streaming apps (Netflix , Filmon)totally refused to work and were blocked but I was able to tether to an Android tablet without any problems even though they say it was not allowed.
Viber , Watsapp and Skype worked perfectly.
