Old quad cores like this one (it's two generations out of date) are generally best for nobody. Faster dual cores are preferable from a performance perspective and while lots of slow cores can be a route to power efficiency this wasn't a very efficient chip when it launched and there are newer chips that do it much better.
It's competent but certainly not excessive.

Interested to see what people think. I'm after a laptop that's good for fast Web browsing, film & photo storage. Surprised Argos eBay store has such bad feedback.
I've voted hot because of the little knowledge I have this looks like a good price.

If purely for storage and nothing else, there are better choices out there plus you should be budgeting the cost of an external drive to backup to.
Other important aspects if you want to do more are screen resolution, does the standard 768 show enough on screen for you. Do you need a screen that works in the sun? Are you going to adjust your photos so is colour reproduction close enough for you. Trackpad position, some prefer off centre. Keyboard, are you going to be using it a lot, maybe worth getting a separate for a lot typing.
Recommend playing with the in store demos at your high street. If you can't maybe buy from somewhere like Amazon were you can get it returned without too much hassle.
Just for more emphasis, backups. Even setting up a small batch file with some simple switches for robocopy can prevent you losing your data in the case that something happens with your laptop.

What's the difference between this one and the other one you just posted? They seem pretty similar. Thanks for posting.

Good price yes but not for a refurb. (Though that depends how willing you are to wait and shop, but there is better for less posted on this site. (On mobile so finding a link right now would be a nightmare but if I remember when I get home I'll edit this with it.

Quad core AMD in a laptop? Can be used as a portable heater in winter then. This thing will cook itself to death.
Also, RE the comments above about wanting to use it for storing photos and videos, sounds insane. Why are you storing your backups on site? Use Dropbox or something.
